How many types of skirted belt conveyors are there?

Answer: Two types! Confused, aren’t you? How could there be two types? You must have thought there’s only one, right? Nonono, keep reading!
When it comes to skirted belt conveyors, the first thing that usually comes to mind is definitely the steep-incline belt conveyor. It is widely known and deeply remembered for its key feature of conveying materials at a large angle via the conveyor belt.
I. Steep-Incline Belt Conveyor
It adopts a structure of skirts plus transverse partitions. Materials fall onto the partitions to realize upward conveying, achieving the purpose of material transportation. The spacing between partitions can be customized, and the height of the skirts can also be manufactured according to specific requirements—there is no fixed standard height.
II. Skirted Belt Conveyor (Flat-Belt Type)
Essentially, it belongs to the flat belt category, designed for horizontal or slightly inclined conveying. Skirts are installed on the conveyor belt to prevent materials from spilling to both sides, hence it is classified as a type of skirted belt conveyor.
The biggest difference between the two types of skirted belt conveyors lies in two aspects: one is equipped with transverse partitions while the other is not; one can feed materials at a large angle, and the other can only conduct horizontal or slightly inclined conveying.
