LS Type Screw Conveyor: The Fully Sealed Powder Handling Solution
Are fugitive dust emissions creating hazardous workshop conditions and compliance headaches? When fine powders like cement or fly ash penetrate internal bearings, frequent downtime and high maintenance costs are inevitable.
We engineered the LS Type Screw Conveyor to solve this exact problem. Designed as a fully sealed continuous conveying system, it eliminates material spillage and environmental contamination. Manufactured strictly according to the JB/T7679-95 standard, this industrial screw auger serves as the definitive upgrade for legacy equipment plagued by chronic bearing failures.
LS Type Screw Conveyor’s structure:
Type LS Screw Conveyor consists of three parts: screw machine body, inlet and outlet and driving device. Screw machine body consists of head bearing, tail bearing, suspension bearing, screw, shell, cover and base. The driving device consists of motor, reducer, coupling and base.

The Engineering Upgrade: LS vs. Old GX Series
Why do plant engineers replace existing GX series models with the LS series? The core difference lies in bearing protection.
In older designs, internal bearings operate continuously submerged in abrasive materials. The LS series moves the head and tail bearings entirely to the outside of the shell. This fundamental design shift completely isolates the bearings from the material flow, drastically extending their operational lifespan.
Furthermore, we upgraded the hanging bearings. The modern LS series utilizes advanced sliding bearings. Crucially, maintenance teams can now lubricate these hanging bearings externally—without dismantling the cover plate—saving hours of labor during routine maintenance.
Shafted vs. Shaftless: Choosing the Right Configuration
Selecting the correct internal configuration determines the success of your powder handling equipment. We offer two distinct variations based on your material characteristics:
Shafted Configuration: The standard choice for highly flowable, non-sticky dry powders and granules. It efficiently pushes heavy, abrasive materials like cement, coal powder, and dry ash along the trough.
Shaftless Configuration: Replaces the central shaft with a robust spiral ribbon operating inside a U-trough equipped with a replaceable liner. This simpler structure eliminates material buildup around a central pipe, making it suitable for mildly tangled or irregular materials.
Optimized Scenarios & Hard Limitations
To guarantee maximum ROI, deploy this bulk material screw feeder within its optimal operating parameters.
Best Applications: Exceptional performance handling coal, ash, slag, and cement. Standard units easily handle material temperatures up to 200°C.
Layout Flexibility: Designed primarily for horizontal or slightly inclined conveying.
The “Do Not Use” List: This system is not suitable for perishable, highly viscous, or easy-to-caking materials. Viscous materials will adhere to the screw blades and casing, causing severe jamming and motor overload, while perishable materials risk degrading inside the enclosed trough.
Critical Procurement Checkpoints
When sourcing an enclosed conveying system, verify these critical manufacturing details to ensure long-term reliability:
Bearing Material Compatibility: Check the hanging bearing material. For abrasive applications like cement handling, specify powder metallurgy or felt axle tiles to ensure adequate wear resistance.
Housing Integrity: Verify the use of seamless steel pipes for the tubular casing and assess the rigidity of the flange connections. A rigid, precisely machined flange is non-negotiable for achieving zero-dust leakage.
Technical Specifications
The exact conveying capacity and required tube diameter depend heavily on the material’s bulk density and the calculated fill factor of your specific operation.

Upgrade Your Workshop Environment
The LS type screw conveyor is more than just a piece of machinery; it is a comprehensive solution for upgrading your workshop environment, mitigating dust hazards, and lowering long-term maintenance costs.
